The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall were all smiles as they celebrated the first day of spring at the weekend by sharing a new photo with royal fans.

The sweet image shows the couple, who have been married for almost 16 years, looking at each other adoringly as they posed in the garden of their beautiful Highgrove Estate home. They’re surrounded by pretty purple and white cyclamen, which blanket the ground in parts of the stunning Highgrove Estate garden.

Camilla looked casual in a black puffer jacket and matching trousers, while Charles looked at home in a blue shirt, a beige jacket and a pair of tan trousers. The duchess held onto a bouquet of yellow and white daffodils for the snap.

“Wishing you a happy and healthy first day of spring,” the couple’s official Instagram account Clarence House captioned the post. “The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in the garden at Highgrove.”

Royal fans were thrilled to see the sweet snap, with one writing: “Ohhhh my heart. That is the cutest thing I have seen. Thank you so much for sharing.”

Another commented: “Happy first day of spring your Royal Highnesses. Lovely photo.” While a third wrote: “Lovely photo of two wonderful people.”

The pair’s Highgrove Estate is world-renowned for its incredible garden and environmental ethos. All 15 acres of the Highgrove gardens are organic and most of the electricity is sourced from a renewable energy supplier and from solar panels on the farm barns.

The estate is also home to an organic farm and 200 chickens that are free to roam around the fruit orchard all year long.

Charles’s passion for his garden is well documented and he’s overseen the design and expansion of the Highgrove grounds since he first moved to the estate in the 1980s. The estate is open to the public and welcomes more than 40,000 visitors every year.

With spring now in full bloom across the UK, the official Highgrove Garden Instagram has been sharing photos of the changing season and the blossoming flowers across the grounds.

Charles and Camilla were forced to close the garden to the public when the Covid-19 lockdowns first hit the UK, but announced recently that they will reopen for tours on Jue 23, 2021.
