The Duchess of Cornwall turns 73 on Friday, July 17 and to mark the occasion, the royal family released a stunning new portrait of Camilla.

Wearing a bold blue dress, Camilla looks sensational in the never-before seen snap, with her hair styled in her signature coiffed ‘do. The dress is the perfect shade for Camilla, and features a zip running down the centre, which was slightly open to reveal a blue camisole beneath.

The vibrant photograph was taken earlier in the week in the garden of Clarence House, on the same day that the duchess reopened Youth Action Wiltshire’s activity centre, where she spent time with a group of young carers.

“A new photograph of The Duchess of Cornwall has been released to mark Her Royal Highness’s 73rd birthday tomorrow,” a post on the official Clarence House Instagram page read.

Many people wished the duchess a happy birthday on social media, with one writing: “Happy Birthday, that is such a lovely photo.” Another commented: “Lovely, I really like her. I think she’s so natural and caring.”

While another said: “Gorgeous and wishing you a happy birthday and have a lovely day.” Another user commented: “Beautiful photo of a beautiful lady! Happy birthday!”

It comes just over a week since Camilla stepped out in another stunning blue frock, as she carried out a solo royal engagement in the English town of Swindon last week. The duchess met with groups of essential workers who have been on the frontline throughout the ongoing pandemic.

The Duchess of Cornwall today visited @swindonboroughcouncil to hear about how staff, volunteers and residents have been coping during the pandemic,” a statement shared on the official Clarence House Instagram page read.

“Supported by a network of volunteers, the Council’s Live Well Hub helps isolated residents in the community. Over 8000 welfare telephone calls have been made and Her Royal Highness today packed the hub’s 1000th food parcel, which will be sent to a vulnerable resident with no family support.”

Camilla, who spent much of the Covid-19 lockdown in Scotland with Prince Charles, also met with firefighters from Swindon Fire Station earlier in the day, as well as staff from Great Western Hospital and South Western Ambulance service paramedics.

The duchess wore a smart navy blue frock for the outing, which featured a bold geometric print and a contrasting white collar. Camilla paired the dress with a pair of her trusty beige court shoes and carried a cream scarf with her, no doubt to protect against the unpredictable British weather.
