Prince William has shared a heartfelt message to his wife Princess Catherine on her 43rd birthday, calling her the “most incredible wife and mother”.
The future king took to social media to mark the occasion, sharing a previously unseen black and white photo of the Princess taken by Matt Porteous. In the image, the Princess appears relaxed and smiling, her hands tucked into her jean pockets and wearing a gingham scarf.
“To the most incredible wife and mother,” he began.
“The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”
Royal fans were quick to join William in wishing the beloved Catherine a happy birthday while praising the Prince for his “lovely message”.
“Happy Birthday Catherine, wishing you a wonderful year ahead surrounded by family and loved ones,” one wrote.
“Happy birthday Princess Catherine!! Hope you have an amazing day.”
“Such a lovely message and picture. A very happy birthday!” commented another.
“Stunning photo of our birthday Princess. The sweetest message from her loving family. Wishing Catherine a blessed year ahead.”
Catherine is said to be celebrating quietly at home in Windsor with William. Although Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will be attending school they are expected to join their parents for a family celebration in the evening.
Catherine’s birthday celebrations will no doubt hold extra significance this year after months of health struggles.
After undergoing major abdominal surgery in early 2024, speculation ran rampant about her condition, as the usually visible royal remained out of the public eye for months. Then, in a deeply personal video message, Catherine revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
Despite widespread concern from royal fans, Catherine recently shared the joyful news that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy for cancer.
Catherine shared the uplifting news of her health journey in a heartfelt message on social media, accompanied by a touching video of her with her husband and their three children.
While discussing Catherine’s birthday with OK!, royal expert Jennie Bond said this year’s celebrations are “going to be memorable in so many ways”, given everything Catherine and her family have endured.
“For her husband and children, this will be an excuse to spoil her rotten and, even though it falls on a school day, I’m sure that’s exactly what they’ll do,” Bond told the publication.
“I imagine they will shower her with gifts—perhaps some pampering products like luxurious bath oils and scented candles. Maybe William will buy her some silk pyjamas or cashmere jumpers—things that are soft on skin [after] treatment.
“This birthday is going to be memorable in so many ways—it will mark the start of a new and hopefully happier year and the end of one that has been brutal for the whole family.”
