Prince Harry has visited the Borough Market in London, the site of horrific attacks earlier this month when terrorists rampaged the markets in a stabbing frenzy which along with the London Bridge van attack left eight people dead, including two Australians, and a further 48 people injured.
The first stop for the young royal was bakery Bread Ahead, where staff told Harry of how they fought off attackers using the only weapons they had at their disposal – bread crates.
“There would have been eight staff working and two of them got involved. Everybody reacts in their own way, they were brave and went out of their way,” the owner said.
“There were two girls being attacked outside and they literally threw bread crates at them. They grabbed the only thing they could in the moment.”
Coincidentally, the bakery also reportedly baked loaves for Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s wedding.

While paying tribute to the victims of the terror attack, Harry also took the opportunity to extend his condolences to the victims of the more recent Grenfell Tower fire tragedy, where the death toll is expected to reach 100.
It looks like the visit brought cheer to the shopkeepers at the market following the horror they witnessed.
