While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be happy with how their recent trip to Nigeria turned out, one particular aspect of their unofficial royal tour has been a source of “bitterness” for Harry.

The couple recently wrapped up their “first official international tour” and while the trip has generated a great deal of criticism from royal commentators, the only opinion Harry is concerned with is that of the Royal Family.

More to the point it’s the lack of acknowledgement for Prince Harry’s recent tour from members of the Royal Family that is reportedly irking the 39-year-old.

During a recent discussion with The Mirror, royal author Tom Quinn explained that Harry is upset that The Firm isn’t offering their support.

“Harry and Meghan see their recent trip to Nigeria as a huge success, but for Harry, every success is another kind of failure while his family refuse to acknowledge his efforts and steadfastly refuse to apologize for everything that had happened in the past,” Quinn said.

“In Nigeria and even with Meghan at his side and regularly holding his hand, he still has a permanent look of bitterness on his face.”

While the Royal Family may not be rushing to offer their praise to Harry, behind closed doors, members of the Royal Family are reportedly “furious” about Harry and Meghan’s recent trip.

In a previous interview with The Mirror, Quinn explained that Harry and Meghan’s Nigeria visit “really upset the applecart” and that King Charles and Prince William are the most incensed.

“William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in future. Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him,” he told the publication.

“What’s really upset the applecart is the fact that the Nigerians treated Meghan and Harry as if they too thought this was an official tour – all the signs were there as the couple were greeted with dances, receptions, visits to schools and charities.”

In addition to their frustration, Charles and William have reportedly been left “scratching their heads” over how to manage such behaviour from Harry and Meghan moving forward.

“William and Charles are scratching their heads and thinking, ‘How are we going to control this nightmare situation?’,” Quinn said.

“Everything you might expect from an official royal visit was there – the receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled. Meghan and Harry’s speeches and their whole attitude has been designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals and William and his father King Charles don’t like it one bit.

“For Charles and William, it’s as if Meghan and Harry are saying, ‘We don’t need your permission to be working royals – we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like’.”

Despite not getting the response he wanted from the Royal Family, Harry has hinted that similar trips may be on the horizon.

“I think it’s really cruel and awful,” Levin explained during a recent appearance on GBN America.

“He wants to say that he’s okay, he’s fine. He knows how to do these things. And the old fashioned Royal Family can’t.

“I think he could be a lot of damage, bring a lot of damage to the Royals.”

Whether Prince Harry chooses to go all out with more unofficial royal tours in hopes of gaining some form of acknowledgment from the Royal Family or decides to follow the advice of royal experts and step back, one thing is certain: his actions will inevitably spark discussion and dominate headlines.
