Unvaccinated One Nation Party leader Pauline Hanson has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be forced to self isolate just days before the federal election.

The senior Senator broke the news on KIIS-FM Sydney radio on Thursday, May 19.

“I’m up to shit, I’ve got Covid,” she said coughing.

It is understood that the 67-year-old started developing symptoms of the virus last Friday, May 13, while she was campaigning in Western Australia.

The politician’s diagnosis means she will be unable to continue her campaign and will be in isolation on election day on Saturday, May 20.

Hanson says her symptoms haven’t been too bad.

“Anyway, it’s all good, it’s like I’ve had a heavy cold…I haven’t been to hospital. I’m still kicking. I’m alive,” Hanson said.

“I will self-isolate in accordance with the current rules, and do my best to drive One Nation policies from home ahead of this weekend.”

The Queensland senator still maintains her anti-vaccination stance, telling The Kyle and Jackie O’Show: “I’ve told you that before, I’m not getting vaccinated.”

Earlier this year, Hanson submitted a signed petition to the federal government asking them to create a broad royal commission into “the true facts and the management of the Covid-19 pandemic” while asking Prime Minister Scott Morrison, to close international borders from foreign arrivals to open the country up for Australian’s “imprisoned” in their homes.

“Scott Morrison may not be able to control state borders but he can shut the gate to the foreign arrivals who have been bringing Covid-19 to our shores,” she wrote on social media back in August 2021.

Just last year, Hanson had a set out a scathing campaign to end vaccine mandates, prosing to end mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations and has been an avid attendee at “freedom rallies” vowing she would not be “putting that shit” into her body.

“I’ve taken that stance and that is my choice. I am not an anti-vaxxer, but I am very careful of what I put into my body,” she had previously said during a Business For Choice event, saying getting the jab would jeopardise the healthy lifestyle she maintained.

News of Hanson’s positive test results comes weeks after she won the Family Voice Australia’s national Mother of the Year award for her “commitment to family and the community and indeed Australia as a member of federal parliament”.
