Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo says he is proud of his cancer scar and goes out of his way to show it off.
The 30-year-old, former X-Factor contestant was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017, and has since been through a terrible battle with chemotherapy, radiation and major surgery.
However, instead of covering up his scar and hiding away from the past 10 months, Johnny revealed on Tuesday to KISS FM’s Kyle and Jackie ‘O’ that he embraces the mark that was left after the removal of a seven-centimetre tumour.
“I went through a lot of crap to get this scar, I want people to know about it.”
While the scar has faded quite significantly over time, Johnny admitted before the 27 staples were removed it looked like something out of a horror movie.
The actor and singer has been very open about his cancer journey, keeping fans updated over social media with his positivity, despite his ongoing battle with the disease.
“Some things in life really put things into perspective, hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts,” he wrote on Instagram when he first revealed his scar.

Despite the ongoing chemotherapy, Johnny has not let the disease slow him down, and is often seen catching up with fellow Home and Away stars or participating in charity events to raise money for brain cancer research.
Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts on the popular Channel 7 soap, has been a particularly strong support for the young brave man.
Speaking to Starts at 60 earlier this year, the McGranger, 65, commended Johnny for his fighting spirit.
“He’s very positive and the good news is that the chemo is working,” she said.
A recent photo posted of the pair together on set left many fans wondering whether the television favourite would make an appearance on Home and Away.
