The body of a three-year-old girl was discovered at a home in Orange, New South Wales, last night, sparking a police probe into the tragic death.
Police officers from the NSW force found the toddler’s body at around 7.30pm on Thursday, with the girl’s mother also found in a semi-conscious state inside the property.
Officers from Central West Police District attended the scene on March Street after receiving reports of a concern for welfare. They gained access to the property, leading to the devastating discovery.
“Officers gained access to the home where they found a three-year-old girl deceased, and her 40-year-old mother in a semi-conscious state,” a force spokesperson said.
Along with police, paramedics from NSW Ambulance were also called to the scene and the woman was taken to hospital to undergo treatment.
Meanwhile, a crime scene was set up at the March Street home and an investigation has been launched into the unexplained death.
