Although the ongoing tension between Meghan Markle and the Royal Family has captured global attention, a former friend of Markle’s has urged her to “mend bridges” with the monarchy and move on.

Since stepping down as senior members of the royal family in early 2020, Harry and Meghan have been increasingly vocal about their experiences and challenges within the institution.

Their candid interviews and public statements have not only sparked intense debates but have also strained their relationship with the Windsor clan.

Seemingly fed up with Markle’s tirade against The Firm, British television personality Lizzie Cundy, who was friends with Markle before she began dating Prince Harry, recently expressed hope that “they could try and mend the bridges with the Royal Family as well as her own and just start being a normal couple”.

“If they didn’t want publicity, why are they courting it?” she told The Mirror.

“Isn’t it about time you stopped the court cases, trashing the Royal Family and stop the setup photoshoots?

“Just be a real couple and get on with your own lives like you wanted – you wanted the privacy so go and have it.”

According to The Times journalist Valentine Low, the controversial pair may be finally ready to put their grievances aside and move on.

“I think Harry and Meghan do want to move on,” Low recently told Good Morning Britain.

“I’ve spoken to their people who, basically, in terms of accusations against the royal family, they say, ‘we’re done, we’ve done that’.

“It’s not that there won’t be any shots because there might be shots but I don’t think that there will be a concerted thing like a book or a program or a big interview. They’ve learned, Meghan’s not stupid.

“She knows you’ve got to do something positive now, you can’t carry on harking on that same negative message.”

Established in memory of Princess Diana, the event recognises the social and humanitarian efforts of over 180 young people

Both princes delivered moving speeches to those in attendance for the virtual ceremony, paying tribute to the extraordinary legacy left behind by their late mother.

Although they didn’t appear together, the sentiment expressed by both brothers was evident: their mutual love and admiration for their mother would always surpass any disagreements.
