George and Amal’s twins have finally arrived

Share:

George and Amal Clooney have welcomed their much awaited baby twins into the world – a little boy and a little girl – and they have given them refreshingly classic names – Ella and Alexander.

The actor’s publicist Stan Rosenfield told the BBC that the babies were born in London on Tuesday morning.

“Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” he said before joking: “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Social media is already erupting over the news, with Twitter users praising their traditional name choices.

The couple were married in September 2014 in Venice, Italy, and the pregnancy was confirmed in February after rumours started swirling that Amal looked to be sporting a little baby bump.

The Oscar winning actor, 56 said when the news of the pregnancy came out that he and his human rights lawyer wife Amal, 39 had already stopped travelling to riskier destinations for the sake of their babies.

It sounds like they’re already smitten, and they’ll no doubt make wonderful parents!

What do you think of the names George and Amal have chosen for their little twins?
