Sophie Wessex has made no secret of her love for dance, famously being pictured with her daughter Lady Louise in the crowd of British TV show Strictly Come Dancing last year – but it turns out she has some amazing skills herself too.

Prince Edward’s wife delighted a crowd as she stepped onto the dance floor for an impromptu waltz on her latest royal engagement in Blackpool, UK. And she looked graceful from start to finish as she gave her partner a quick nod before moving across the floor in his arms.

Wearing dramatic pink flowing flares, giving her outfit a retro vibe, the countess looked stunning as she coupled them with a trendy animal-print shirt. Wearing her hair tied back in a bun, Sophie looked in her element as she smiled and laughed in front of the camera.

Sharing the sweet video on Instagram, the royal family’s official page wrote: “It was a special anniversary for two of Blackpool’s iconic attractions this week. The Countess of Wessex visited both The Grand Theatre and Blackpool Tower, to celebrate their 125th anniversaries! At the Grand Theatre, The Countess watched performances by local children, and learnt about the restoration of the historic landmarks. Later on, The Countess put on her dancing shoes! HRH was invited to dance the waltz alongside local performers at Blackpool’s iconic Tower Ballroom.”

Following the dance, Sophie visited the Tower Eye where she unveiled a plaque marking the building’s historic anniversary, before the busy royal went on to visit a local charity, N-Vision, “which creates talking news for visually impaired listeners. Her Royal Highness recorded a short extract of news and spoke to listeners”.

Fans regularly compliment the countess on her work ethic, and one person commented this time round: “I have great admiration for the Countess. Clearly a fabulous member of the Royal Family,” while another added: “Wow thats beautiful…. a good dancer….”

Meanwhile one person wrote: “This was a great post. The Countess seems like such a lovely person.” And one more added: “She’s a true Lady, I really like her.”

Sophie previously treated her daughter Lady Louise to a visit to the Strictly Come Dancing studios to celebrate her birthday last year. They were snapped in the audience, giving fellow fans a treat as they shared the room with royalty.

“It was lovely to have them there, we are very fortunate we have a few fans in the royal household… They did absolutely [get a backstage tour],” host Tess Daly told HELLO! magazine. “Lady Louise was celebrating turning 15 and she said it was a treat to come and visit the show. She’s a big fan, herself and her mother. They enjoyed all the action from the front row and they had a great night. It was great to welcome them.”

The pair are often pictured out together on royal engagements, and they even co-ordinated their outfits last month for a horse riding event. Lady Louise, 15, was all smiles as she visited Burghley House in Stamford, a town in England, alongside her 54-year-old mother.

The Queen’s so-called “favourite grandchild”, who turns 16 in November, wore a pair of jeans with a chic floral patterned blouse, navy blazer and knee-high riding boots. While she wore her dark blonde locks in a casual low pony tail for the occasion and accessorised with a fringed tan side bag.

As usual, Sophie looked effortlessly elegant as she opted for a stylish red and white striped floor-length skirt, and matched with her daughter by sporting a navy blazer as well. She completed the look with navy boots and a pair of studded earrings, while she tied her blonde locks back in a simple yet sophisticated pony tail.
