Hollywood actress and exercise enthusiast Goldie Hawn has just seemingly proven that wine and workouts do go hand in hand.
Taking to Instagram, the 76-year-old dropped an at-home workout routine, where she gives some workout advice and reminds fans to incorporate movement into their days.
“Hi everybody, this is ‘Keep Your Mind Up Monday,’ and I’m going to keep my mind up for exercise. Come with me,” Hawn says at the start of the video.
Dressed in a full black bodysuit the Death Becomes Her star kicks off her workout routine by bouncing on her mini-trampoline outside her home.
“So you can jump on your trampoline. If you don’t have one just bounce up and down like this. Or if you want to jump, you can do this and it really is so great for your lymph system. Put your arms up, because when you do and work your arms and works your heart too, it’s amazing,” Hawn continues.
As she reaches the weight-lifting section of her workout, Hawn is seen holding a bottle of wine in each of her hands, explaining that you don’t need gym-grade weight to do some light lifting.
“And also, if you can’t, if you don’t have weights or anything, I just got a couple bottles of wine, you know, I just go up like that,” she remarks as she does overhead presses with the bottles.
“It’s the same thing. It’s great! You know, they both weigh about the same thing.”
Hawn then draws her workout to a close with a walk and a quick cool-down on her yoga mat.
Fans and followers of the actress quickly flooded Hawn’s comment section praising her for being an inspiration and applauding her creative take repurposing the wine bottles.
“I’ve loved Goldie my whole life and this kind of stuff is why! Repurposing wine. Brilliant!”
“You are always such a positive inspiration! I’m gonna go downstairs and do arm lifts with my half empty wine bottles right now! Maybe take a sip or two then go walking! ”
“I am 60 years old and totally thin but totally out of shape don’t even know how to motivate myself to start but watching u made me want to try !!! Love I Goldie your adorable and a great role model for women!!! Thank u for this.”
Hawn is no stranger to staying active. During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Hawn would often share videos of herself boogieing around her kitchen.
Dressed in activewear with a black singlet top and matching tracksuit pants, Hawn let her hair down and threw her hands up in the air as she danced to the hit song Hey Ya! by hip-hop duo OutKast.
On top of being a fitness enthusiast, Hawn is an active advocate for mental health.
Her latest workout video was shared as part of her MindUp program, which she created as a part of the Goldie Hawn Foundation, to help people find ways to handle stress.
