American actor Ted Danson has warmed the hearts of many around the globe after sharing a sweet compliment about his loving wife Mary Steenburgen during a recent interview.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 73-year-old reflected on his 25 year marriage with the 67-year-old actress and how deeply in love they are.

“I’m in love, we’re in love. That handles a lot. We make each other laugh. I admire her,” Danson said. “If I could be a woman, I’d want to be her.”

Danson went on to say how much they “delight” each other and that they love to celebrate each other’s achievements.

He said Steenburgen has recently been helping him to run lines for his new sitcom Mr. Mayor, but they’ve had some troubles. “You know, she is the worst line runner for our show because she has hysterics and laughs,” Danson explained. “It takes forever for me to learn anything because she insists on doing all of Holly’s (co-star in the TV show) lines, you know, because she thinks they’re so funny. She’s terrible at that.”

Danson’s comments about his wife have captured the attention of fans around the globe, who said they were touched.

“This is lovely,”@realmissverse wrote on Twitter. “Just what a hopeless romantic such as myself needs to start the day. Now I delight in the two of them.” While Sarah May added on Facebook, “I bet nothing but laughs between these two.”

Danson and Steenburgen first met while on set of the 1994 film Pontiac Moon, where they played a married couple. This was after Steenburgen had been married for 10 years to actor Malcolm McDowell, with whom she shares two children. Meanwhile, Danson had been married to Casey Coates from 1977 to 1993, and was already the father of two children, Kate and Alexis. Before this, he had been married to Randy Danson from 1970 to 1975.

Speaking about those early days during a chat with People magazine in 2018, Steenburgen said, “We met when we were 40 and 45, and we had lived a bit. We met at a time when both of us had stared down some demons within ourselves and it was lucky that we met then.”

The pair exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony at Danson’s Chilmark home in Martha’s Vineyard in October 1995, just one year after meeting.
