Sharon Stone has suffered an unbearable loss — her 11-month-old nephew and godson River has died, just days after she announced he was found in his cot with total organ failure.

The 63-year-old actress provided a tragic update on Monday, revealing the baby boy had sadly passed away. Sharon shared a beautiful video tribute in his honour, with the caption: “River William Stone. Sept. 8, 2020 – Aug. 30, 2021.”

Friends of Stone’s have since commented on the post and shared their heartfelt condolences, with fellow actress Melanie Griffith writing: “Oh Sharon. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending love to your whole family.”

Allison Janney commented: “I’m so sorry for your unimaginably painful loss. I send my love.”

While Hilary Swank said: “I’m so sorry. Deep heartfelt prayers for your family.”

Last Friday, Stone uploaded a distressing photo of her nephew in hospital revealing he was suffering from “total organ failure”. It’s not clear what led to River’s organ failure to begin with.

“My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today,” she wrote at the time. “Please pray for him. We need a miracle.”

River, who was just shy of his first birthday, was the youngest child of Stone’s younger brother Patrick and his wife Tasha.

The proud aunt regularly shared photos of her nephew. Last September, Stone uploaded this adorable photo of the baby boy coming home from the hospital. “Look who’s going home: River William Stone, my brother Patrick and his wife Tasha’s new baby,” she captioned the post.

Earlier this year, she uploaded this close-up snap of the little tot, with the caption: “My nephew & godson, River.”
