The Chase’s Mark Labbett has undergone an incredible physical transformation over the last year, looking slimmer than ever following an over 60kg kilogram weight loss.
Labbett gave fans a look at the results of all his hard work in a photo taken backstage at the Northwich Panto on Christmas Day. In the photo, a slimmed down Labbett holds the board game version of Pointless, which is a television rival to The Chase.
“This was my secret Santa at the Northwich Panto. I suspect @richardosman,” he captioned the photo.
Fans were unsurprisingly left astounded by Labbett’s incredible weight loss, taking to the comments section to congratulate the 57 year old on all his hard work.
“You look great now Mark! How have you managed to lose your weight? I’ve been trying for ages with no joy!”
“Is it bad I thought this was a throwback pic of you as a teen!? You’re looking way younger, Beastie!!!”
“Merry christmas hun. Just got to say this you look absolutely amazing. Wtg with losing so much weight xx. Have a fabulous Christmas xx.”
“Looking good Mark.”
“Jesus, almost didn’t recognise you, really smashed that weightloss.”
“Mark you look great. Well done on your weight loss journey its a hard one and you have done amazing xx.”
Never one to shy from sharing his weight loss journey, Labbett joined The Morning Show earlier this year to discuss his weight loss transformation and how he has managed to keep the weight down.
Labbett revealed that at his heaviest he weighed 185 kilograms and was down to 135 kilograms, saying he was “doing okay.”
Taking to social media, Labbett also showed the extent of his weight loss at the time, posting a shirtless selfie with the caption “Down to 52-inch chest from 60”. So was 5xl, now 2xl.”
Labbett got candid about his weight, yet again, in December 2021 when he appeared on the British lunchtime chat show Loose Women where he shared some of the secrets behind his dramatic weight loss.
The quiz wiz accreted his weight loss journey to his diet and the effects of “changing his habits”.
“I’m on a high protein diet… so eating an awful lot of meat and lean meat, and as much as I love chips and other carbs, I’m having quite a bit less than I used to,” he said.
He also told the show how looking after a toddler during lockdown has contributed to his weight-loss progress.
“The principal thing has been running around after a hyperactive three-year-old in lockdown when the nursery was shut,” Labbett explained.
“I found at the end of the evening instead of going to the fridge for late-night snacking, all I could do was collapse on the bed.”
