Julie Bishop has become quite the fashionista since stepping away from politics more than two years ago. And on Sunday night, the former foreign affairs minister pulled out all the stops for the Brownlow Medal red carpet in Perth.
Julie looked sensational in a figure-hugging black and nude gown, which she teamed with gold, platform heels and a pair of statement bling earrings. The former pollie styled her longer locks into a voluminous half-up do, and opted for glamorous makeup.
Julie was accompanied by her partner David Panton, who looked dapper in a black tuxedo.
Since stepping away from politics more than two years ago Julie has maintained a strong presence in the media with her eye-catching outfits earning her the new title of fashionista.
Even while she was working, the former pollie received a lot of attention for her stylish ensembles, but since retiring from the fast-paced life, she has ramped it up to another level. From figure-hugging dresses to flowing gowns, Julie never seems to make a wrong choice when it comes to her outfits.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald back in June last year, Julie opened up about the surprising fashion advice she was given by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
During her interview, Julie was asked whether there’s a current fashion trend she likes. Julie went on to say after meeting the world-famous journalist she now can’t live without sneakers.
“When Anna Wintour was here for last year’s Australian Open and was asked about future trends, she said wearing sneakers,” she told the newspaper outlet. “I’ve taken her at her word.”
Julie is currently the chancellor of the Australian National University, and is also on the advisory board of Afiniti, a software company focused on developing artificial intelligence for use in customer call centres, and is on the board at the international consultancy Palladium.
