Renowned Hollywood icon Joan Collins has fearlessly taken a stand against the ever-growing tide of cancel culture, highlighting its negative impact on her social life.

While cancel culture has had a profound impact on the entertainment industry, it is the effect on the parties she frequents that has particularly irked Collins.

The 90-year-old passionately emphasised her opposition to the trend of woke culture in a recent interview with Beat magazine.

“The parties I go to now are kind of dull,” she told the publication.

“They are red carpet things in which everybody does behave. If you don’t behave now you are going to get cancelled.”

It’s not the first time Collins has raised her voice against cancel culture, after criticising its stifling nature in the past.

During a March 2022 interview with The New York Times, Collins voiced her concerns over what she perceived as an unfair backlash against males within the movement against sexual misconduct and abuse, marking her ongoing opposition to cancel culture.

“Sadly, I think that now young men are suffering from being labeled toxically masculine because of this rise of anti-maleness,” she said at the time.

“I believe that women are equal to men in every single way.

“Except physical strength. People say you didn’t burn your bra, you wear lipstick. So what? I’m very proud of being a woman.”

She also shared her perspective on the use of gender-neutral terms, shedding light on her stance on the matter.

“What’s wrong with mother? What’s wrong with woman? Girl? I don’t like having that word taken away,” she said.

Collins’ gripes are not only confined to the realms of cancel culture, she also recently voiced her less than favourable views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Collins asked why “we need to give them any more oxygen?”

Back in 2021, in a chat with controversial TV personality, Piers Morgan, the actress was asked: “What do you make of what’s going on with the British royal family now with Meghan and Harry, the feud with William and Charles?”

“My lips are sealed on that subject,” Collins replied. “I just don’t want to go on national TV and say what I feel about Meghan and Harry because look what happened to you!”

With a career spanning over six decades, Collins has built a stellar legacy in the entertainment industry. She rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s, starring in a string of successful films, including The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing and The Stud. However, it was her iconic role as the glamorous and conniving Alexis Carrington in the hit television series Dynasty that catapulted her to global stardom.

Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Beyond her acting prowess, Collins is also an accomplished author, philanthropist, and advocate for various charitable causes.
