There are a handful of Hollywood film veterans who know how to have fun with red carpet fashion, and silver-haired Andie MacDowell is one of them.
The 64-year-old actress and formal Yves Saint Laurent model turned heads at the red carpet premiere of her newest film, Good Girl Jane, at Tribecca Film Festival in New York City on Saturday, June 11.
For the event, the Maid star rocked an emerald green dress with a seductive plunging neckline.
The dress’s design was similar to that of a double-breasted coat, with its four buttons side pockets and lapels.
The sleeveless number looked to be made of faux leather-like material, which hugged the actress’s figure just right. The dress, which fell just below MacDowell’s knees and featured a cheeky little slit, was paired with strappy black open-toed high heels.
Flashing photographers one of her infectious smiles, the mother-of-three wore her trademark salt and pepper curls out and kept her makeup light, almost barefaced. For accessories, the actress kept things simple with a single, slim, gold bracelet.
It seems that green is MacDowell’s current colour of choice for her red carpet premieres, as this chic ensemble comes after the actress rocked another green number for the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival.
The Hollywood veteran first debuted her natural greying locks on the red carpet at Cannes last year for the premiere of Annette. This year, however, she returned to the festival with a new beauty look- a fabulous, eye-catching, bejewelled eye make-up.
Taking to Instagram, MacDowell shared behind-the-scenes footage of her “fabulous” time getting glammed up by her beauty team.
“I’m an exotic badass at 64. That’s what I am,” the actress said in the video.
“That’s what happens when you turn 64.”
Recently, MacDowell and other mature celebrities have started to embrace ageing, challenging age stereotypes, and paving the way for many women to gain confidence in their greying hair.
MacDowell has previously said that going grey has helped her accept her “authentic, true self” and that she’s “never felt more beautiful” at this stage in her life.
