The Duchess of Cornwall stuns in evening ensemble

She put her best foot forward.

With winter in full swing in Britain, the Duchess of Cornwall is embracing big scarves and cosy coats to ward of the icy chill in the air in style. Camilla stepped out in Mayfair on Wednesday to celebrate Lady Jane Spencer-Churchill’s birthday and drew plenty of attention in a form-fitting black dress and bold red scarf.

She accessorised with a stunning pair of pearl earrings and a black-sequined clutch bag. She finished the look with sheer black-tights with black heels.

Duchess of Cornwall arrives at Lady Jane Spencer-Churchill’s Birthday.

It was the end to a busy day for the Duchess, who earlier carried out a number of royal engagements in the town of Chesire. She visited The Clink at HMP Styal—a restaurant where prisoners work towards food service and preparation qualifications prior to their release.

She looked content as she met with chef’s at the restaurant and talked to patrons, while sporting one of her favourite purple tartan dresses.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles performed his own duties at Quarry Bank— a national trust site based around a historic cotton mill. He also stopped in at the Congleton town centre, finding a local pub called ‘The Prince of Wales’ where he chatted with staff and crowds that had gathered outside.

After leaving his namesake pub, the prince visited the town centre, where he was greeted with a guard of honour from the local air cadets.

He also visited the Old Saw Mill community hub and met with members of the community that use the space regularly. This included a local knitting group and the team from Meals on Wheels.

Many speculate that Prince Charles’ participation in many new royal duties are preparing him for life as the Monarch. The Times reports that Charles is rolling back his charitable work to make room for his new “kingly” duties.

Clarence House sources confirmed to the paper that the prince was moving around his schedule to help lighten the load on his mother.

The source said: “the approach of the Prince’s 70th birthday provided a sensible opportunity to review his charities to ensure that they continue to deliver the maximum benefit for those people they were set up to help.”

Prince Charles is expected to represent the Queen at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Australia in April.
