She’s usually spotted inspecting agricultural displays and military bases, but the Countess of Wessex took a peek at something completely different on Monday – the lingerie section at a department store.

Sophie visited Daniel, a department store in Windsor, UK, for the 100th anniversary of the popular business and was snapped perusing the many saucy displays of underwear on show as part of an exhibition celebrating a century of lingerie in the store.

Looking absolutely beautiful, the 53-year-old glowed in the navy blue-and-flower patterned dress that fell just above her knees.

Daniel has a long history with the royal family and was awarded with a Royal Warrant from the Queen as a supplier of gifts to the royal household. Warrants are awarded to business that supply goods to the royal family and allow them to advertise the royal coat of arms, thus adding more prestige to their business.

The Countess of Wessex was snapped soaking up the sunshine as she strolled down High Street in nude stilettos towards the store.

Wearing her blonde locks down and straight, Sophie chose to pair the outfit with a simple gold bracelet, earrings and necklace, while she carried a nude leather clutch. Going for a more natural look with her makeup, Prince Edward’s wife opted for a pink lip and a touch of blush.

Inside the store, Sophie joined crowds of people for the special event where she was given a tour of the store by employees before enjoying a high tea with other attendees.

The countess looked to be having a wonderful time as she sat and chatted with locals as they tucked into a delicious selection of desserts and sandwiches.

The royal has had a busy couple of months attending to her royal duties and family obligations.

Most recently, Sophie took time out of her jam-packed schedule to help out at a charity event alongside her former sister-in-law, Sarah, Duchess of York.

The pair stepped into the shoes of London stockbrokers at the annual BGC Charity Day, which honours the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and raises money for a number of charities by moving stock on the trading floor.

Sophie looked elegant as she represented the charity Brainwave at the event, of which she is president, as she picked up the phone and tried her hand at stockbroking. The next big event on the royal calendar for Sophie will see her heading back to Windsor, this time for the wedding of  her niece, Princess Eugenie, who is set to marry Jack Brooksbank on October 12.
