Princess Mary showed her respect to the people of Africa this week by dressing in a traditional and vibrant outfit during her visit to Kenya.

The Aussie-born princess looked gorgeous in the red and orange dress which was paired with a colourful necklace and traditional head piece.

Throughout her stay in the East African country, Prince Frederik’s wife joined Danish Minister for Development Ulla Tørnæs in meeting with a number of organisations that work to improve the rights of girls and women.

One of those organisations was the Northern Rangland Trust which helps to support women in poor patriarchal nomad societies by involving them in the operation of wildlife reserves.

“The work has resulted in more girls having access to education and fewer girls have been circumcised and included in child birth,” the Danish royal family wrote on Instagram.

The mother-of-four received much praise from royal fans who took to social media to acknowledge the princess for her meaningful work.

“Wonderful initiative – congratulations to Denmark and Crown Princess Mary on good, sustained work to solve the big problems in Africa,” one person wrote on Instagram.

“So natural she is… in dress, shoes, hair and beautiful local clothes. I think we have the world’s coolest crown princess, who focuses on many important areas,” another added.

While a third said: “Beautiful crown prince no matter what clothes you wear”.

Her attire was completely different to a more formal dress worn recently as she presented awards at an official engagement alongside husband Prince Frederik.

Mary looked picture perfect in a gorgeous white dress which fell just below her knees and tucked in slightly at the waist.

Standing tall in simple gold heels with her brunette locks pulled back in a low pony tail, the 46-year-old was all smiles for the event in Aarhus, Denmark where she had the honour of presenting a number of coveted awards.

With Frederik by her side, Mary awarded the Crown Prince’s Social Star Award to a foundation in the Danish city for its commitment to helping those experiencing loneliness, abuse and grief.

A seperate award, was also presented by the Aussie-born princess to film director Annika Berg for her creative and powerful movies.

At a separate event, Mary attended the recently renovated Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg.

The princess looked beautiful in a more casual outfit which featured simple black pants, a black sweater and a khaki green cape.
