Melania Trump looked sombre in an all-black ensemble as she paid her respects to late Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens at a ceremony with husband President Donald Trump on Monday.

The first couple were pictured hand-in-hand entering the court’s great hall to honour the late justice, who reportedly died at age 99 on July 16 from complications following a stroke.

The former model dressed appropriately for the sombre outing in a conservative yet stylish long-sleeved fitted black midi dress. Standing tall in black heels the mother-of-one walked alongside her husband with her brunette locks styled in soft waves over her shoulders.

Keeping with a natural look, Melania chose to go without jewellery, while using a dark eye shadow to highlight her eyes and a hint of blush on her cheeks.

The First Lady later paid tribute to the late justice, writing on Twitter: “We remember the extraordinary life & honorable work of Justice John Paul Stevens as @POTUS & I paid our respects inside the Great Hall of the @USSupremeCourt this morning. Our continued prayers & sympathies are with the Stevens family.”

Meanwhile, Melania also shared a series of photos in the same elegant ensemble as she met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan alongside her husband.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “Great to have Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI of Pakistan at the @WhiteHouse today!”

Meanwhile, it comes as Melania and President Trump revealed on Monday afternoon they will be hosting an official state visit and state dinner in September for Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife Jenny.

“The visit will celebrate our two countries’ close friendship and shared history, and reaffirm our common vision for global peace, security, and prosperity,” the White House said in an official statement on its website.

It’s the only second state dinner the president has held since he was inaugurated into the White House — the first was for French President Emmanuel Macron in April 2018.
