She’s known for her impeccable sense of style and Melania Trump pulled out all the stops on Thursday as she joined her husband President Donald Trump in welcoming the Czech Republic prime minister and his wife to the White House.

Wearing a green leather coat by Alexa Chung, which retails for US$1,100 (AU$1,500), Melania looked beautiful standing with Czech Republic’s Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and his wife Monika Babiová.

Posing for photos outside the White House, the first lady, who has been married to Trump since 2005, stood tall in US$725 Louboutin nude heels while the stylish coat, which cinched at the waist with a belt, fell gracefully to her knees.

Keeping with a natural look, the first lady chose to go without jewellery, while using dark mascara to highlight her eyes and a hint of blush on her cheeks. As for her hair, the mother-of-one kept with her usual wavy style.

Meanwhile, the Czech first lady wore a stylish purple coat, featuring matching pink fur cuffs, with blush-toned heels. Once inside, she removed her coat to reveal a chic white dress.

Earlier in the day, Melania made a visit to the State Department to present the 2019 International Women of Courage Awards. The first lady honoured 10 female recipients from around the world for their humanitarian work. The recipients were from countries including Jordan, Montenegro, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt, Ireland, Peru and Myanmar.

“I believe courage is one of the qualities we need most in society,” she said in a short speech, according to CNN. “It is what propels us forward. Courage is what divides those who only talk about change from those who actually act to change. Courage takes sacrifice, bravery and humility — it is the ability to put others first.”
