They are two of Hollywood’s most iconic leading ladies with careers spanning more than seven decades combined, and Jamie Lee Curtis and Julianne Moore certainly looked the part as they stunned in gorgeous white frocks on the red carpet in Canada at the weekend.

Moore and Curtis attended the Toronto International Film Festival to promote their upcoming movies, as 57-year-old Moore stars in Gloria Bell, while Curtis has stepped back into the role of Laurie Strode for a reboot of her 1970’s classic horror film Halloween.

Still Alice star Moore was glowing as she stepped out in a beautiful, billowing white gown for the premiere of her latest movie, a remake of 2013’s Chilean-Spanish film Gloria. The Hollywood star’s strapless dress fell to floor, with layers of asymmetric fabric giving it an ethereal feel.

The Hunger Games actress let her gorgeous gown do the talking and kept her accessories simple, opting for a pair of diamond earrings, several oversized rings and a pair of black peep-toe heels. While she wore her red hair pulled back from her face in an effortless up-do and her make-up looked elegant and simple.

Trading Place’s Curtis, 59, rocked a much shorter white dress which showed off her slim figure. She paired the fitted dress with a pair of low-heeled white court shoes and opted for no jewellery, except for a classic silver wristwatch.

She wore her short white locks in her signature cropped style, despite her character in Halloween – which is due for release just in time for the scary holiday on October 18 – sporting shoulder length hair.

Also in attendance at the festival was Australian hunk Hugh Jackman, whose latest role in The Front Runner is a far-cry from his last big hit as circus ringmaster P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman.

The X-Men actor looked extremely dapper in a black three-piece suit and matching tie for the premiere of his upcoming movie, with a pair of shiny black lace-up shoes and his short dark hair coiffed away from his face.

Jackman, 49, plays US Democrat Gary Hart in the new movie and follows his 1987 campaign to be selected as his party’s presidential candidate, which was derailed when reports of an extramarital affair surfaced, seeing him beaten by Michael Dukakis.

Speaking at the premiere, he told the BBC that he has never had aspirations to transition into the world of politics, saying: “I’ve never had any aspirations and looking into that world makes me want to run away further. I don’t know if I could handle it to be honest – too thin-skinned I think.”

Annette Bening, 60, also stepped out at the A-list event on Saturday wearing a show-stopping red suit. The American Beauty star looked incredible in the bold scarlet two-piece, which she paired with a white camisole and beige peep-toe sandals.

Bening was at the festival to promote her latest big screen offering Life Itself, which is being touted as a “multi-generational love story” and also stars Olivia Wilde, Homeland’s Mandy Patinkin and Antonio Banderas.

What do you think of their red carpet looks? Are you looking forward to seeing any of these movies?
