She may be 82, but Jane Fonda still looks every inch the cover star, and the actress turned activist showed off her skills as she posed for the cover of this month’s Elle USA magazine.
The Grace and Frankie star was chosen to front the popular fashion magazine this month to mark Elle‘s second-ever annual conservation issue because of her commitment to championing the cause of climate change, most recently through her Fire Drill Fridays movement.
“For ELLE’s second annual conservation issue, we’re honouring Earth month with activist and actress @janefonda,” a spokesperson for the publication said. “Fonda, who was arrested last October for protesting in front of the Capitol with @FireDrillFriday, has been fighting the climate crisis for decades.”
“I always felt like the student. This is the first time that I am the leader,” says Fonda, in an interview accompanying the shoot. “I’m 82, which is very useful because people say, ‘Well, gosh, if she can do it, I can do it, too’.”

Jane, who shot to fame in the 1960s, looks sensational on the cover in a stylish metallic two-piece suit, made up of a pair of silver trousers and a two-tone jacket, which is half black and half silver. The jacket nips the 9 to 5 star in at the waist, making the most of her slim figure, before fanning out into a wider skirt with several pleats.
Jane completed the simple yet sophisticated look with a black turtle neck sweater beneath the suit jacket, and wore an understated pair of drop earrings.
The photos of the world-famous star appear to have been taken before she cropped her hair into a modern pixie cut, however the actress seems to be fully embracing her natural grey as she wore her silver hair curled into a bouffant style.
The Barbarella star debuted her new hair colour back in January, when she stepped out for a special screening of hit Netflix series Grace and Frankie, which stars Fonda and Lily Tomlin as a pair of unlikely friends who are forced to live together after their husbands reveal they’ve fallen in love with each other.

She also showed off a much shorter ‘do at the Oscars the following month as she dazzled on stage in a recycled red gown. The 82-year-old stepped out on stage to present the award for Best Picture, sporting a pixie-crop hairstyle in a stunning shade of grey. She shared a photograph of herself from the ceremony on social media and fans went wild over her new look.
One fan wrote: “The hair is amazing.” Another gushed: “You look so beautiful!! You are my favorite actor!”
While another said: “Just when I thought I couldn’t love you more…. you and your silver hair are SPECTACULAR! Love you silver sister!!”
