TV stars, politicians, sporting legends and even the world’s most famous magazine editor filled the Australian Open celebrations with colour as they joined together for a glamorous brunch on Thursday.
Everyone from Georgie Gardner, Ita Buttrose and Deborah Knight, to Julie Bishop, Turia Pitt and Anna Wintour transformed for a series of photos outside at the Inspirational Series Brunch in Melbourne.
Leading the charge was stylish politician Bishop, 62, who kept her look simple but elegant in a knee-length white shirt dress without a crease in sight. She coupled it with some statement earrings and showed off a glowing tan as she posed alongside Vogue editor Wintour.
Usually known for her stern expression, Wintour, 69, flashed a rare smile for the photo as she showed off her figure in a skintight white floral dress with pinched short sleeves.
She stuck to tradition with her signature large black sunglasses for the event, and wore a large red necklace to match the pretty dress design.
Both women stopped for several photos together alongside Bishop’s partner David Panton, with writer and director Baz Luhrmann joining them later on. Panton followed his partner’s summery theme perfectly in some black shorts and a patterned black and white shirt.
Elsewhere, former Studio 10 star Buttrose, 77, won the crown for brightest outfit of the day as she stood out in a stunning red knee-length dress.
Opting for comfort over glamour, she kept her footwear simple in some flat black pumps but added bright red lippy to match her dress and coupled it with some dazzling gold stud earrings.
Fellow TV stars and Today show co-presenters Gardner and Knight followed her on the black carpet in their own colourful ensembles, taking a well-deserved break from filming to join in the celebrations along with their co-star Brooke Boney.
New starter Knight, 46, matched Buttrose in red but opted for a different style in a layered long dress with cut-out floral patterns from head to toe. She wore her shorter hair loose and straight and chose some large gold earrings to complete the look.
Meanwhile Gardner, 48, chose a classic and elegant look in a simple long-sleeved black top and a high-waisted black and white chequered skirt, while towering between her co-stars in black stiletto heels.
Adding a modern twist to the look, she wore long black tassel earrings and flashed a beaming smile to the cameras. The outfit was a perfect contrast to Boney’s beautiful appearance as she glowed in a short white dress with a panelled design on the skirt and nude shoes.
They were joined at the event by athlete and inspirational writer Turia Pitt, 31, who – like Buttrose and Knight – opted for an eye-catching bright dress for the occasion.
Wearing a below-the-knee yellow frock, she posed alongside the star-studded guests and added low black sandals to her look.
The glamorous brunch comes just days before the 2019 Australian Open is set to wrap up with more intense finals for both the men and women. The series has had several shocks along the way already, as Roger Federer was knocked out early on followed more recently by Serena Williams.
