She’s known for her effortlessly chic style, and the film star’s latest outfit choice didn’t disappoint as she stunned in an eye-popping blue dress at the weekend.
Helen Mirren was all smiles as she visited the cast of ‘Imperium’ (a stage adaption of the Cicero trilogy of novels by Robert Harris) in London.
Mirren looked sensational in the elegant frock, which nipped her in at the waist before billowing out into a full-length skirt. The 72-year-old actress completed the ensemble with a pair of zebra striped flats which featured multicoloured tassels, and kept her make-up classic with a rep lip.
Though she makes dressing up look effortless, Mirren revealed that she does have a bit of cosmetic help, which she reckons makes her look a lot better than she otherwise would. The actress recently had her eyebrows tattooed and now swears by the procedure.
“I was fed up of my brows barely being there, and when one of my girlfriends got it done, I thought they looked great“, she told Women & Home magazine in the UK. “They’re very lightly and delicately done, but it means that when I get up in the morning and I have no make-up on, at least I have eyebrows! It’s made a huge difference.”
She’s known for pulling out all the stops for red carpet events and parties, and Mirren ensured she made a memorable appearance on the final day of the Royal Ascot last month.
The 72-year-old actress joined the Queen and a stream of stars to fill the annual event with colour, while celebrating five days of all out style, racing and parties.
Mirren wore a knee-length pink and black floral dress for the day, with a matching baby pink fascinator fixed with a huge flower. Posing for photos in front of a large flower-filled wall, it looked made for her grand entrance – and she did not disappoint.
Even when she’s not attending the theatre, movie premieres or other glamorous events, the Calendar Girls star proves that style can be achieved in any situation. During a recent trip to Germany, the actress teamed a straight-legged pair of black slacks with a silky orange bomber-style jacket and a bright headscarf that took the trousers from boring to stylish in one quick move.
