We didn’t think much could compete with Catherine’s impeccable style, Meghan’s edgy flair and Princess Mary’s classic fashion choices, but the Belgian royals have given Europe’s leading ladies a run for their money as they made a show-stopping display for the country’s National Day on Sunday.
Unlike her more traditional royal counterparts, Queen Mathilde of Belgium is never one to shy away from a fashion-forward frock and she proved so in a stunning coral-coloured lace dress, which featured a stylish boat neckline and an elegant A-line midi skirt.
She teamed the bold dress with a pair of nude heels and a co-ordinating fascinator and clutch, looking every bit the leading lady that she is. Wearing her blonde locks up in a stylish hairdo, the mother-of-four finished off the stylish look with a pair of statement gold earrings.
The queen’s eldest daughter Princess Elizabeth, 17, wowed in a gorgeous white and blue floral dress which she teamed with matching pair of cobalt blue heels and a clutch. Meanwhile, her younger sister Princess Eleonore, 11, looked equally as stylish in a fuchsia pink mini dress and nude ballet flats.
As for the royal men, King Philippe of Belgium looked dashing in a blue suit, which showed off his military medals, while the royal couple’s two sons Princes Gabriel, 15, and Prince Emmanuel, 13, dressed to impress in matching navy suits.
Meanwhile, Prince Laurent, the king’s younger brother, and his wife Princess Claire also made a very stylish appearance for the day’s festivities.
The mother-of-three made a dramatic entrance in a hot-pink jumpsuit, which cinched in at her waist before falling effortlessly to the floor. She teamed the eye-popping ensemble with a pair of pink court shoes, a matching hat and clutch — a far cry from what her more traditional royal counterparts often wear.
