Denim is one of the most youthful fabrics around and isn’t only for the young. Denim jeans, a denim jacket, denim shirt, denim skirt or even a denim shirt dress are all wardrobe staples that should be found in our wardrobes. As we get older the way we wear our denim may change in its styling. We soften its look and make it blend in to our own style rather than the denim being the statement that it is for the young.
Here Style at 60 looks at the humble denim jean and jacket – and how to make them your own.
Dress it up
I find white denim jeans to be one of the most versatile items to have in my wardrobe. I can transform their look into anything I want by changing the way I style them. I love this soft draped top and gorgeous tan and bronze accessories to create a glamorous ensemble that will take you out to lunch, dinner or wherever the day may take you.

Keep it feminine
Every woman should own a denim jacket. I have both white and classic blue. As the jacket is such a structured item I like to pair it with something soft to keep the look feminine. Denim jackets are great to throw over a strappy dress when the temperatures drop.
