Divorce can be a costly time for any couple, but for Karl Stefanovic, it’s coming hand in hand with a new, lavish wedding.
According to a report in the Herald Sun, the Today show host, 43, will marry his new partner Jasmine Yarbrough at celebrity hotspot Cabo in Mexico in December – just months after they hosted a stunning commitment ceremony for their closest friends and family.
Stefanovic’s marriage to ex wife Cassandra Thorburn ended after 21 years when they divorced in October 2016. She has remained fairly silent about his new relationship ever since.
While neither Stefanovic nor Yarbrough have publicly confirmed their wedding plans, they have begun showing off their relationship more in the public eye, and recently shared a loved up selfie together in matching outfits.
Writing alongside it, Stefanovic added: “Football on. Kids in bed. Double denim. Doesn’t get any better.”
According to the Herald Sun‘s report, the same 20 guests who attended the commitment ceremony are also thought to be on the short list for invites to the main ceremony.
Among the guests were the bride-to-be’s sister Jade and parents Cheryl and Bob, as well as Stefanovic’s brother Peter and wife Sylvia Jeffreys and some of his Channel Nine colleagues.
Billionaire James Packer owns a new waterfront home in the beautiful area of Cabo, and while he’s a friend of Stefanovic, it’s not confirmed if he will play a part in the big day.
Meanwhile, the publication also made sensational claims that Stefanovic is paying his ex Thorburn, 46, $35,000 a month following their divorce, mostly towards supporting their kids. They have son Jackson, 18, daughter Ava, 13 and son River, 11, together.
Neither one of them have confirmed these claims, and Starts at 60 has contacted Stefanovic’s rep for comment.
Following their heartbreaking divorce, Thorburn previously told Woman’s Day: “I was completely gazumped when I realised Karl had gone.
“The children still have a father but I don’t have a husband. He really is dead to me and no, we won’t ever be friends again.”
Stefanovic defended his new relationship on The Kyle and Jackie O Show recently, saying: “I’m in love and I’m sorry if that causes anyone hurt. But I won’t be apologising to my nearest and dearest because I don’t need to.”
It comes after Stefanovic and Yarbrough exchanged vows in a commitment ceremony in March.
The Today show host confirmed to the Sunday Telegraph they hosted the secret ceremony on in Sydney at the time, in front of their closest friends and family.
“We are very much in love. We clicked right from the start,” Stefanovic told the publication shortly after. “It’s a commitment ceremony. It was lovely.”
