A boy living at university called up his mum and asked her for some money, because he had officially run dry.

The mum kindly said: “Sure, sweetie. I’ll send you some money. You also left your statistics book here when you visited two weeks ago. Do you want me to send that up too?”

“Uh, oh yeah, okay,” responded the boy.

So the mum wrapped up the book, along with the cheques, in a package and mailed it to him.

When she returned home, the dad asked: “Well, how much did you give the boy this time?”

The mum answered: “Oh, I wrote two cheques. One for $20 and the other for $1,000.”

“That’s $1020!” yelled the dad. “Are you crazy?!”

“Don’t worry,” the mum answered calmly. “I taped the $20 cheque to the cover of his book, and I put the $1,000 one somewhere between the pages in Chapter 19!”
