Give your seedlings an extra boost with this gardening lifehack

Share:
Another good way to reduce kitchen waste.

This easy gardening idea will crack you up.

Egg shells can be used to grow seeds, with added nutrition for your plants.

Next time you crack one open keep as much of the base intact as possible.

Clean the inside of the eggshell by boiling them for a few minutes to kill any bacteria.

Put a small draining hole at the base then put the shell back in the carton.

Add a small spoon of potting mix and then pop in the seed.

Keep them in a warm and sunny location, keeping the soil moist.

When your seedling starts to grow you can transplant it, shell and all, into your garden.

You simply crush the shell to allow roots to find the soil, but the shell will eventually decompose in the soil adding nutrients at the same time.

Grow your seedlings in eggshells.
