After a year punctuated by bouts of ill health, it’s wonderful to see Aussie television icon, Bert Newton, showing off his famous broad grin in new family photos on wife, Patti’s Instagram account.
And the photo’s were taken at a time everyone likes to have their picture snapped – in a post facial-glow!

Newton captioned the snap explaining that Bert had just had a facial, and that he’s “looking good for 79”! And she’s right!
In the snap, Newton is displaying his huge smile, and is accompanied by his two granddaughters who are clearly happy to be spending time with their funny granddad.

She also shared a full family snap, including the pair’s beautiful grandchildren.

Newton has been plagued by poor health and hospital admissions this year, as a result of pneumonia. He was hospitalised with the illness, which can be very serious at Newton’s age, in May, which was the third time he had contracted it.
Thankfully he was given a clean bill of health after being treated for the illness, as well as anaemia.
The star celebrated his 79th birthday will family and friends in July, and recently enjoyed a night out seeing Jesus Christ Superstar with Patti.
