Michael Buble cancels upcoming performances

Michael Buble is taking a break from music… temporarily.

The 40-year-old singer of hits such as ‘Sway’, ‘Just Haven’t Met You Yet’ and ‘Everything’ announced on Twitter that he will undergo surgery on his vocal chords, which effectively rules him out of a few scheduled appearances.

“To my fans: I wanted to let you know that I am bowing out of some upcoming events due to pending vocal cord surgery, which will require a period of time for me to rest and recover,” the singer wrote.

He is especially disappointed to not be performing at the Canadian Governor General Performance Arts Award Gala and the Marvin Gaye Tribute, both of which are in June.

Although there will be no singing or talking from the popular Canadian, Buble’s doctors expect he will make a full recovery.

Other singers to have undergone surgery on their vocal chords include Adele, Sam Smith, and Julie Andrews.

While Adele says the procedure was so successful for her that it added four notes to her voice, Julie Andrews’ famous four-octave singing voice was ruined.
