She’s known to millions of people around the world as teenager Raffy Morrison on hit Australian soap Home and Away and actress Olivia Deeble has been hospitalised following a head injury.

The young actress, who made her debut on the show in 2016, revealed to fans that she was recovering in hospital after hitting her head. Sharing a photo of herself asleep in her hospital bed, the 16-year-old star explained just how serious the injury was.

“Hey guys, a couple of days ago I hit my head and was concussed with brain swelling,” she wrote. “I’m fairly crook at the moment and have been to hospital a couple of times but slowly improving.”

The star said she would be absent from social media for some time, revealing that she is currently sleeping for 12 hours a day.

“I won’t be on social media a lot due to the fact I’m sleeping like 12 hours a day but wanted to let you all know I’m still here and am trying to get better as soon as possible,” she said.

The actress also jokingly thanked her mum for taking photos of her while she was passed out.

Showbiz clearly runs in the family, as Olivia’s grandfather is The Sullivans actor Reg Gorman. Her mother, Kate Gorman, also appeared in Neighbours in the ‘80s.

Actress Sarah Roberts, who plays Willow Harris on Home and Away, wished her co-star a speedy recovery, while Gold Logie winner Georgie Parker wrote: “Please take your time getting back into everything. Love you sweetheart.”

Penny McNamee, who also appears on the hit show as Olivia’s her half-sister Tori Morgan, tried to make light of the accident.

“Where is Dr Tori when you need her?” she joked, referencing her character. “Sending lots of love and love healing vibes beautiful. Xxx.”

Olivia isn’t the only Home and Away star in recent times to face health battles. Former star Johnny Ruffo is recovering after doctors discovered a seven-centimetre tumour at the front of his brain in August last year. He was quickly admitted to the operating theatre where surgeons removed the tumour, leaving him with a large scar across the front of his head.

Meanwhile, Georgie Parker recently underwent hip replacement surgery at the age of 53 after suffering osteoarthritis for more than a decade.

“It was a big operation, it was bigger than I thought,” she revealed on The Morning Show earlier this year.

“But the relief was pretty immediate and I’m back to doing what I want to do, but I’m taking my time. It was a life-changing experience.”
