If you’re tired of the usual Vegemite on toast, it might be time to give your blender a workout. These three energy-packed smoothies use easy-to-find Australian ingredients and are designed to keep you full and focused until lunch.

Mango, Banana & Macadamia Power Smoothie
Why it works: Natural sweetness, healthy fats and fibre to keep you satisfied.

Ingredients (serves 1–2):

1 cup fresh or frozen mango (Australian Kensington Pride if in season)
1 ripe banana
1 cup milk of choice (dairy or almond)
1 tbsp macadamia nuts
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ cup Greek yoghurt
Ice cubes (optional)

Method:
Blend until smooth and creamy. Add extra milk if needed.

Health boost: Macadamias provide heart-healthy fats, chia seeds add fibre and omega-3s, and yoghurt delivers protein to help keep hunger at bay.

Blueberry Oat Brekkie Smoothie
Why it works: Like porridge in a glass – but quicker.

Ingredients (serves 1–2):

1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2 tbsp rolled oats
1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
1 cup milk of choice
½ tsp cinnamon
½ cup Greek yoghurt

Method:

Blend thoroughly so the oats break down smoothly. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to thicken slightly.

Health boost: Oats provide slow-release energy, berries are rich in antioxidants, and nut butter adds staying power.

Aussie Green Energy Smoothie
Why it works: Fresh, light and packed with nutrients.

Ingredients (serves 1–2):

1 cup baby spinach
1 kiwi fruit, peeled
½ green apple, chopped
½ avocado
Juice of ½ lemon
1 cup coconut water
1 tbsp honey (optional)

Method:
Blend until silky smooth. Add extra coconut water for a thinner texture.

Health boost: Spinach delivers iron and folate, avocado adds healthy fats, and coconut water provides hydration — perfect for warm Aussie mornings.

Extra Tip
To make any smoothie more filling, add:

A scoop of protein powder
1 tablespoon of flaxseed
Or extra yoghurt

Quick, nutritious and far more exciting than toast – these smoothies will keep you energised well into the day.
