It’s a rumour that’s plagued the Royal Family for years and Paul Burrell has finally revealed who Prince Harry’s real father is.

The former Butler of Princess Diana is a contestant on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! and has been revealing secrets since he was dropped into the African jungle on Sunday.

During Tuesday night’s show, the 59-year-old was happy to discuss rumours that suggested that Prince Harry wasn’t actually Prince Charles’ son and that he could possibly be the son of James Hewitt.

The big revelation came when Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gilles asked the former butler to set the record straight.

“Do you believe that Prince Harry is Charles’ child?” she asked.

He was quick to respond. “Yes, absolutely.” Still not convinced, Jackie continued with her questioning. “It isn’t the other … The orange hair?”

She was referring to Hewitt, although Burrell suggested that It wasn’t possible. “She didn’t know James Hewitt when Harry was born. That’s fact,” he claimed. “Five years into the marriage, she had Harry. And she hadn’t met James Hewitt. True.”

Gilles informed her co-star that she believed him. It’s not the first time the rumour has been brought to light. Hewitt himself has publicly denied being Prince Harry’s father. He became a household name in the mid-90s when he revealed that he’d had a secret relationship with Princess Diana while she was still with Prince Charles.

This is the second time Burrell has appeared on the popular reality TV show. He was a contestant on the British version in 2004 and he’s promised to reveal more royal secrets during his stint in the jungle.

Shortly before entering the jungle, he suggested to News Corp that he can still contact The Queen, despite betraying the family’s trust when he spilled secrets after her death in 1997. He’s told many stories and even written tell-all books about his time in the palace.

Along with British reality star Vicky Pattison, Burrell was added to the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! line-up after sport stars Bernard Tomic and Anthony Mundine quit the show.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry is set to wed American actress Meghan Markle on May 19 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. More than 600 people will attend the lavish ceremony. While guests are yet to be confirmed, it’s fair to say that Burrell probably won’t be getting an invite.

What do you think? Should Paul Burrell be profiting from his time as a royal butler?
