The longest standing number one instrumental song in history!

This song held the top spot for nine weeks on the Billboard charts in 1960 after it was the theme song for the 1959 Blockbuster, A Summer Place.

This version of the song still stands today as the longest running number one instrumental piece in Billboard history. It won the Grammy for Recording of the Year in the same year.

The song has been used in popular culture films prominently in the genres of horror and mystery.
