1981: Renown singer comes out of her shell

Share:

This Australian artist released this track under the same name as her 12th studio album in 1981.

The line “there’s nothing left to talk about unless it’s horizontally” was considered rather offensive and forced some radio stations to stop playing the song due to high volumes of complaints.

Despite this, the single was immensely successful.

With it’s repetitive and catchy chorus, the song was exceptionally easy to remember.

Staying at the top of the U.S charts for ten weeks, this single subsequently became the biggest selling U.S single of the decade. In addition to this, the song went number one in Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.

Can you name this track?
