What’s your favourite meal of the day?

Share:

Each meal is equally important but we all still have a preference. Is there a certain meal you favour – breakfast, lunch or dinner?

In the 1960s, nutritionist Adelle Davis popularised the mantra, “eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper”. The reason being that fuelling your body with nutrients early in the day helps to provide you with energy to function throughout the day.

This might explain why breakfast has long been considered the most important meal of the day. In fact, here are a few reasons why breakfast is considered the best meal of the day.

  1. It sets up you for a great day and influences how you perform physically and mentally. In fact, several studies have shown that those who consume breakfast daily have better weight maintenance. Skipping breakfast sends the message to your body that you need to conserve energy, which can slow down your metabolism and impact how many calories you burn throughout the day.
  2. The versatility of breakfast food. Whether it’s cold cereal, hot oatmeal, pancakes, or eggs on toast – the options are endless.
  3. It tastes great at any time of the day. A lot of breakfast cuisine is consumed throughout the day, even for dinner!
  4. It’s easy to make! Nobody needs a Michelin star to whip up scrambled eggs and buttered toast.

So which meal do you like best – breakfast, lunch or dinner? And why?
