The public image of our beloved Royal Family graces newsstands around the world and dominates television screens regularly. However, fans rarely get a glimpse of the personal side of their favourite royals. Until now.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has peeled back the curtain offering rare insight into the private side of Princess Anne, revealing that the beloved royal is as genuine behind closed doors as she is in public.

“She’s exactly what you see in public, there’s not really a different side to her,” he explained, as per the Daily Express.

“Obviously, everyone likes her, she’s very much like her mother and her father with very similar traits to both of them.

“She’s a hard worker, and is a very down-to-earth, normal person – she didn’t even want her children to have Royal titles.

“She drives herself from A-B and goes out and about on her own. She’s as modern a Royal as you can get, and behind closed doors, she’s just like everyone else. She’s a real family person and loves her animals.”

In addition to being just as genuine on the world stage as she is behind palace doors, the Princess Royal is also the most industrious member of her family and one of the most hardworking royals globally.

According to a previous report from The Telegraph, Princess Anne had attended 457 engagements in the past year.

This places her as the busiest member of her family for the third consecutive year, surpassing even King Charles, who had attended 425 engagements at the time in his new role.

The third busiest was their youngest brother, Prince Edward, with 309 engagements. In contrast, the heir apparent to the throne, Prince William, has only attended 172.

Dickie Arbiter, former press spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth, noted that Princess Anne provides invaluable support to the King.

“She just gets on with it, often carrying out multiple engagements in one day,” he told The Telegraph.
