The hilarious moment an Australian newsreader was caught off guard

Share:
Surprise!

We’ve all been caught by surprise before, but fortunately for most of us, it doesn’t happen live on national television.

ABC News 24 anchor Natasha Exelby is no doubt groaning inwardly after she was caught unprepared when a live cross finished and cameras flicked back to her in the studio as she was fidgeting with her nails, clearly not at all ready to be back in the spotlight.

It was only a split second before she regained her composure, but her hilariously surprised reaction is going viral around the world for good reason.

As the cameras came back to her in the studio, Exelby looked up in surprise from her hands and gasped in shock with eyes wide, looking every bit the proverbial deer in the headlights!

After the little shock, Exelby quickly tucked her hands down and managed to find her words (if a little high pitched) to get the next segment rolling.

This is not the first time the newsreader has been caught out however. As a presenter for Ten News back in 2013, Exelby was forced to apologise to viewers after she giggled her way through a news report of a serious nature having been distracted by something happening off screen. Now that’s a gaffe!

Have you been caught out in an awkward situation?
