Sarah Ferguson has taken the opportunity during a recent television appearance to commend the “extraordinary” Princess Catherine for her approach to her recent health battle.

Earlier this year, royal watchers, who were already grappling with King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, were stunned by Princess Catherine’s revelation in an emotional video message that she too was undergoing cancer treatment.

Fortunately, royal watchers were treated to some good news recently when Catherine announced that she had completed her course of preventative chemotherapy for cancer.

While discussing her own recent cancer battle and the release of her latest children’s book during an appearance on ITV This Morning, Ferguson offered an update on how Catherine is faring while praising her for her moving video in which she announced her cancer battle.

“The video that the princess did was just incredible. I mean, I was so moved,” she said.

“She’s showing the world what it really is to look after yourself and self-love in order to help others, and I think that’s extraordinary, what she did.”

Ferguson’s update comes as Catherine and Prince William had their first joint public engagement since her treatment came to an end. During the engagement, they met the grieving families of three young girls who were murdered at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in Southport.

Southport drew the world’s attention when, on July 29, three girls were stabbed to death and other children were seriously injured in an attack on the summer holiday event. Rioting broke out days later.

During their visit on Thursday, October 10, the Prince and Princess of Wales spoke with families of the victims and a dance teacher who was present at the time of the attack. Later the royal couple met with members of the local emergency services who had responded to the incident.

Referring to their earlier meeting with the families, Catherine said: “I can’t underestimate how grateful they all are for the support you provided on the day.

“On behalf of them, thank you.”

William told the responders: “You’re all heroes. Please make sure you look after yourselves, please take your time, don’t rush back to work.”

During the meeting, Catherine was seen giving some of the fire, ambulance, police and air ambulance workers a hug after they struggled to express what they were going through and how they were feeling.
