When it comes to celebrating Christmas, the Royal family sure do know how to deck the halls and these new photos of Windsor Castle all dazzled up for Christmas are the lavish proof.

While across the pond, Americans feasted on Thanksgiving dinner, royal courtiers were busily decorating the nearly century-old residence for the holidays with twinkling lights, a 20-foot tall Christmas tree and festive garlands.

The impressive Christmas tree, located in St George’s Hall, took staff a full two days to put up and decorate. The lush green tree boasts thousands of lights and hundreds of mirrored and glass Christmas ornaments, making the tree a magnificent sight to behold.

Sticking to Royal Christmas traditions, the Queen will have three fir trees put up at the Marble Hall in Buckingham Palace. In his interview with Good Housekeeping, former royal chef Darren McGrady explained that the Royal family also has a large silver artificial tree in the dining room at Sandringham.

According to Woman & Home, this year the Queen is honouring her late husband, Prince Philip’s, legacy in the form of a Christmas decoration, dedicating an ornament to the Prince’s passion project- art.

The 95-year-old monarch released a sentimental Christmas tree ornament in the shape of a paint palette, as part of a new series of Christmas decorations at the Royal Collection Shop.

Other decorative highlights of the holiday season at Windsor Castle include a display of the intricate costumes worn by Queen Elizabeth II, 18 at the time, and her sister Princess Margaret when they took the stage in Old Mother Red Riding Boots as pantomimes. The costumes are on show at the castle’s Waterloo Chamber, the same room where the royal siblings had originally performed their pantomime.

The Queen wasn’t the only one who publicly unveiled her extravagant Christmas plans. This week Royal mother-in-law, Carole Middleton proved she was the undeniably fun grandmother.

Carole revealed through her Party Pieces Instagram account that she intends to add a few more festive faces to her decor collection. I’m going to need a few of these cheeky chaps this December, to hide around the house and make my grandchildren laugh,” she shared alongside a photo of two whimsical tomtes

With Christmas just around the corner, there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing more pictures of the Royal’s Christmas wonderland.
