The photo that landed Princess Eugenie in trouble with the palace

Share:

She’s one of the few Royal family members who have permission to use social media but Princess Eugenie has revealed that a recent Instagram photo got her in trouble.

The 28-year-old, who is set to marry partner Jack Brooksbank in a lavish wedding ceremony later this year, explained that an unsuspecting photograph of her father shared on the photo sharing website didn’t impress the palace.

“I recently got in trouble for posting a picture of Papa in a corridor of the palace that was off-limits to the public,” she told British Vogue.

The photograph of Prince Andrew was shared on Eugenie’s Instagram page on June 10 and amassed more than 50,000 likes and more than 720 comments. Taken during Trooping the Colour, Eugenie couldn’t be prouder of her father.

“A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards,” she wrote.

In the image, Prince Andrew could be seen smiling and standing proudly in his redcoat military uniform ahead of his first Trooping of the Colour ceremony as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

The 58-year-old was stood in a lavish hallway featuring an array of portraits hanging on the walls, as well as a series of exquisite sculptures and vases. It also showed off some impressive red carpet that ran the length of the corridor.

The comments were made during an interview alongside sister Princesses Beatrice. The pair admitted that living the royal life isn’t always easy. They said they’ve been left in tears in the past over criticism and mockery and revealed the struggles of being princesses with careers. The girls also posed for a vintage photoshoot at home in Windsor.

More recently, Eugenie and fiancé Jack attended the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks at St Mary the Virgin Church in Frensham in Surrey on Saturday. The couple appeared as loved-up as ever, walking hand in hand and sharing a kiss or two in front of other guests.

The pair will get married in October at the St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, to exchange their vows. They also announced recently that members of the British public will be invited to attend the lavish ceremony, with 1,200 people given the opportunity to enter the grounds of Windsor Castle to share in the experience.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Princess Eugenie? Are you surprised the photo got her in trouble?
