Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has married her fiance, property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private wedding ceremony attended by the Queen and close family, Buckingham Palace has said.

The couple said ‘I do’ on Friday morning at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other close family members attended.

“The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor,” the palace said in a statement.

“The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government guidelines.”

The pair had originally planned to marry on May 29 in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace, but the ceremony was postponed because of the pandemic. Before the cancellation, there was speculation the couple was considering their options on whether to call off their big day entirely or have a private ceremony attended by a small number of family and friends instead.

Princess Beatrice became engaged to Edo in September 2019, while they were on a weekend trip to Italy.

“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married,” the couple said after their engagement. “We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
