It seems like Prince Charles has been enjoying looking back at old pictures from his childhood as of late, and on Sunday, the heir to the throne shared a cute throwback photo to mark his sister’s birthday. Princess Anne turned 71 on Sunday, August 15.

The image in question shows a young Charles squeezing the hand of his little sister as he smiles at her adoringly.

“Wishing The Princess Royal a very Happy Birthday today,” the post, which was shared on the official Clarence House Instagram account, read.

“In this photo from 1951, The Prince of Wales squeezes his younger sister’s hand while sitting in their prams in the Clarence House garden.”

It’s not clear when in the year the photo was taken, but the young prince would’ve been turning three and Anne one.

Royal fans were quick to comment on the sweet photo and wish the Princess Royal a very happy birthday.

“Such a cute photo,” one commenter wrote. Another added: “Happy birthday Princess Anne.” While a third wrote: “Happy birthday to Princess Anne — an incredibly hardworking royal.”

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II also wished her daughter a happy birthday by sharing a series of images on the Royal Family’s official Twitter account. “Wishing HRH The Princess Royal a happy birthday today,” the post read.

The birthday posts come just a few days after Charles took to Instagram to share another throwback photo — a family pic of himself, Anne and their parents the Queen and the late Prince Philip.

“Taken 70 years ago this month, this photo shows the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Anne enjoying a warm summer day in the Clarence House garden,” Clarence House captioned the post.

The Queen looked like a vision of perfection in a flowy summer dress, while the Duke of Edinburgh looked dapper in a suit. Charles, who was dressed in a cute shirt and pants combo, can be seen leaning on his left hand as he looks at his parents, while baby Anne can be seen trying to touch the flowers. The young prince would’ve been two and a half years at the time while Princess Anne, who turns 71 on Sunday, August 15, would’ve just turned one.
