Her Majesty the Queen has had a very proactive month and new reports say she’s ‘knackered’, not only from her enormous number of engagements but also from late-night TV.  Recent reports say the Queen has been staying up late to enjoy a raft of shows with the royal nanny, Mabel Anderson.

In order to wind down, a close source says the Queen likes to get together with the royal nanny, Mabel Anderson. “The Queen rings her up sometimes and Mabel goes and watches television with her,” says the source in a report in The Times. “They are very cosy.”

Over the past year, the Queen has enjoyed her late-night television bonanza, particularly on the weekends. She even reportedly stayed up late to watch British tennis star, Emma Raducanu win the US Open, as well as Prince William’s Earthshot awards ceremony.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Queen really enjoyed watching the hit BBC drama, Line of Duty, and would often rave to royal aides about how much she enjoyed the constant twists and turns.

It’s no surprise the Queen is ‘knackered’. Since returning from her traditional summer vacation in Balmoral three weeks ago, the Queen has undertaken more than 19 public engagements, including her attendance of the opening of Welsh Parliament and her recent trip to Westminister Abbey, where she attended a special service to mark the Royal British Legion’s centenary.

Not only has the 95-year-old monarch been busy, but she also caused nationwide concern, as she spent the night in the hospital last Thursday. Her hospital visit came after doctors advised her to slow down and walk less. After Buckingham Palace assured she remains “in good spirits,” a close source to the Queen has suggested that “she is knackered,” according to a report in The Times.

These health warnings even forced Her Majesty to cancel her trip to Northern Ireland in replacement of some well-deserved rest. And what better way to rest than to kick up your feet and watch some television?

Despite the Queen’s recent health concerns, she’s always been a woman of routine. After completing paperwork in the morning, she will always walk her dog after lunch and she still goes for rides regularly. If anything, watching TV is a relaxing pastime that Her Majesty so gracefully deserves.
