The world watched in awe as Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot at their beautiful royal wedding in May last year, and the sweet pair are still very much in love, according to close friend Bryony Gordon.
The English journalist, who spoke candidly to Harry about his mental health in a podcast two years ago, recently opened up about the newlywed’s “happy” relationship.
Speaking on UK talk show Lorraine on Thursday, Bryony revealed: “[They are] so adorable. I saw them recently and genuinely lovely, happy, you know – first flushes of love, first year of being married – I’m like, ‘just you wait!”
The author also revealed Meghan is “really lovely and down to earth”, despite rumours swirling around that the duchess is a diva.
“I think if you put any family under the microscope you will find weird dynamics that could make headlines, but fundamentally I think they are a really lovely couple,” she said.
Bryony then went on to discuss her recent lunch date with Meghan: “She was lush! We ate monkfish, she fed me some of hers, we swapped food, I gave her some of mine.
“We talked about yoga. She is really lovely and normal and down to earth.”
And speaking about Prince Harry and his public mental health battle, she added: “He is a great advertisement for what happens if you face your mental heath and your problems, actually only good things happen. When you face the bad things that have happened to you in your life, good things come from it, and if you ignore it, the opposite happens.
“The fact that he got help and dealt with those issues, and now he’s married with his first child on the way…”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to welcome their bundle of joy to the world in the UK spring. The newlyweds will move out of Kensington Palace this year into a property gifted by the Queen in preparation for the arrival of their baby.
Kensington Palace confirmed the royal couple will be officially located at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor instead of their current residence of Nottingham Cottage.
The pair have reportedly picked their new home, over a 20-room apartment at Kensington Palace, next door to Prince William and Kate, which will become available next year as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester move to a smaller part of the palace.
The property has a special meaning to the soon to be parents as it lies within the grounds of Frogmore House, where the newlyweds held their private wedding party and had their beautiful engagement photos taken.
