Proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Prince William and his seven-year-old son Prince George twinned in matching suits and ties at the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship game between England and Germany at London’s Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.
The pair dressed in almost identical outfits for the nail-biting game. Both William and George wore navy suit jackets paired with red, white and blue-striped ties, a nod to the colours of the UK flag. William paired his jacket with a white shirt, while George wore a pale blue dress shirt for the occasion. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge was also in attendance and appropriately opted for a red blazer matched with a pair of simple black trousers for the game.
William and Catherine’s two youngest children, six-year-old Princess Charlotte and three-year-old Louis were not in attendance.
The Cambridges shared several snaps from the outing on their Instagram page, with the caption: “Incredible performance @England!.”
In the first pic, the trio can be seen excitedly cheering on the national team. Legendary soccer player David Beckham and English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran were also pictured in the stands.
Fans of the royal family were quick to point out the similarities between the father and son duo, with one writing: “Look at The Duke of Cambridge’s mini-me.”
Others were just thrilled to see the youngster there, with another adding: “Yay look at George’s little face, and William… proud Kate. Well done England.”
While a third commented: “Congrats England! Prince George is so cute in his suit.” Another exclaimed: “How handsome is George in his suit!”
Prince George is third in line to the throne, following his dad and granddad Prince Charles.
The Cambridges outing comes just a couple days before Prince William will meet up with his estranged brother Prince Harry, who currently lives in the United States with his wife Meghan and their two children Archie and Lili, to unveil a statue of their late mother Princess Diana on what would’ve been her 60th birthday. The late princess, who died at the young age of 36 in a tragic car accident, would’ve turned 60 on July 1.
